We are hiring across Middle Tennessee, including Nashville, Antioch, Murfreesboro, Franklin, and Gallatin. Reach out to find out if we're in your area!


  • Above eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Effectively read, write and communicate verbally in English 
  • Read and understand instructions 
  • Perform record-keeping duties
  • Must have a valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance of the appropriate type and minimum coverage limits for Tennessee, as established by the Department of Safety and Homeland Security.
  • Must pass a criminal background check performed in accordance with T.C.A. § 33-2-1202.
  • Must not be listed on the Tennessee Abuse Registry, the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry, the Tennessee Felony Offender Information List (FOIL), and the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities.


Employment Specialists are responsible for delivery of employment related services to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Employment Specialists will deliver  services in their area and within 30 miles of their residence, or otherwise determined. 

MHI staff works with individuals with disabilities and are responsible for helping clients set and achieve their goals. This may include helping them to:

  • Identify their goals
  • Develop a plan to achieve their goals
  • Find resources to support their goals
  • Provide encouragement and support
  • Monitor their progress and make adjustments as needed

Employment Specialists may work with individuals with a variety of disabilities, including physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and mental health conditions. They may work in a variety of settings, such as schools, community organizations, and government agencies.

All Employment Specialists will report to the Communication Manager and Operations Managers.
